Complete

My blog is now complete and has been closed!

Seymour Papert

Papert is a well known mathematician that is utilizing technology to teach. In the 60's he was laughed at because he thought that computers could be used as a tool for learning and creativity. Back then this just was not possible. So as a professor, he conducted research in his lab at MIT.
Thus years later, he is now known for how technology can help provide new ways to learn. He has even performed educational projects in other countries. He is a participant in the developing opportunity for children to participate in the digital world. Now he spends a lot of his time working with teenager convicted with serious offenses.click here

My search for international schools wasn't to great. I did however find that
click hereat this place a lot of schools in other conuntries use this epals such as blogs.

My website

My website is focused on places that me and my husband will visit. I wish that I could have explored and put more pictures in it, so when you looked at the pages you would have felt as if you wanted to go as well.
This Thrusday I came to turn in my corrections to my web, but I found out while entering class, that my cousin had been shot and killed. This same morning at 5:30, I had a aunt to pass, so my web is complete I just haven't got it to Dr. Strange, so he could post it. If had more time and more pictures, I would have added a clip that my dad videotaped when they went on their cruise and were in Jamaica. So once I can get through this, I will in the future get Dr. Strange to show me how to do that.

Hargrove's Web

Mrs. Hargrove's web is nice. I like the colors and especially the movies. I didn't think to do anything about movies and I like that. Her pictures are wonderful very nice. The only thing I would do to improve this site, is on the index page where she want's you to click for email, It won't let you click. Other than that I wouldn't change anything.
Good Job!!

Sarah's Website

Sarah's Website was very nice and compassionate. I can tell that she likes naure as well. Sarah had no mistakes to my knowledge. I think her colors were calm and cool. I liked this web. I never thought about exploring things such as animals, but now I have a different outlook on something else. I wouldn't do anything to change this web. I think that maybe I just had more sentences than other people.

spreadsheets

Spreadsheets in the classroom-I have found that teachers can use spreadsheets to organize and graph numercial data such as gradebooks.Spreadsheets can turn data in to charts and graphs with the click of a few buttons. Spreadsheets can do calculations faster, change and delete enteries to the spreadsheet and the graph as well in a matter of minutes. Spreadsheets have been mostly useful in the grade processing, like a program named Easy Grade Pro. This is just an electronic grade book.

Students can also use spreadsheets to make charts for science or graphs for social science or even times tables. Teachers can use a program such as Excel to help the students better understand how to use spreadsheets. The teacher can also help the parents to keep up with the child's grades and etc. I know that this will be something that I utilize in my classes and with my students parents and even my own parents as well. Especailly now that my little sister will be attending Phillips Prepatory School. To be honest she will probabaly be learnin it as well.click here

Ipod in Education

Ipod in education from apple seems to be progressing as days progress. I read that educators are using Ipods for audio and video content with speeches. Apple has something called the iLife where students and teachers can create their own Ipod content.Apple says that this will create and add new dimensions to learning.
Ipod also has something called Podcasts that are particular for eduacation and learning on the go. Ipods are also able to use audiobooks. I wish I could have had this about 9 years ago when I was at Phillips and we had to read Shakespeare.
Apple development has been useful over the decades just with producing the comptures.I believe that this can be a more interesting way to help enhance learning from a students point of view. However, I do hope that in the future if it becomes more common in a classroom setting that it wont be required for homework to such. The reason I say this is because this new technology is very useful and it is great for us to be able to acess it, but for those of us who are less fortunate and cant afford these accesories, we would be left behind.click here
